  About me:

Hi,
My name is Niamh Finnegan. I am from a big family with 4 siblings and many nieces and nephews. Teaching runs in my family with my nan, my mum and two of my sisters being teachers and my younger sister wanting to be one. I have currently just finished University, studying education studies at Worcester. I also work for Kingsbury School Sports Partnership which involves me going in to many different primary schools around Birmingham teaching lunch time and after school sports clubs to pupils. It also involves me teaching sports and working with children with Special Educational Needs. I have quite a bit of experience with looking after and caring for children, and I am very flexible when it comes to working hours or last minute babysitting needs.
I hope I sound like someone who would suit your family and your families needs.
Niamh

  Work Experience & Education Background

Work Experience 1 Year, references 2
September 2014- ongoing- Kingsbury School Sports Partnership (KSSP). After working with this partnership during my time at school and sixth-form, I was then scouted by the partnership to become one of their employed coaches. The basis of this job is that I go into different primary schools in the Birmingham area, teaching afterschool clubs and physical education lessons to the pupils at the school. I have taught children from as young as year 1 all the way up to year 6, teaching a variety of schools.
As part of this partnership I have also took part in Special Educational needs (SEN) sports festivals, where we invited schools for children with SEN and children with SEN who go to mainstream schools to come to our festivals where we teach them a variety of sports which we have adapted to suit all of their individual needs and give them an opportunity to take part in a competition to show off their own skills.
14th October 2016- 25th November-St. Catherine of Siena Primary school. As part of my university course I opted to do a placement model. I was fortunate enough to be able to take my placement as St. Catherine of Siena primary school. Whilst on this placement I took upon the role of a teaching assistant in the schools reception class, as well as an observation role (which was required for my course). Whilst at the school I tried to take on as much responsibility that I was allowed, and tried my best to get involved or make myself an aid in every activity for the teacher.
March 2013-January 2017-The Cuttle Bridge Inn Hotel and Restaurant. Whilst employed here I first started off as a waitress, I was then fully trained in working behind the bar. During shifts I would differ between waitressing and bar work depending on where I was needed most. Two months after starting work here I was made a trainee supervisor which included me being in control of the restaurant floor, making sure the floor and the bar runs smoothly for the shift and making sure that the bar was properly shut down at the end of every shift. I left this job because I am currently a student at the University of Worcester and this job is back in my home town of Birmingham.
