In May 2017 I am graduating from the Teacher's Programme at the University of Oslo. I am then moving to Glasgow in June 2017 to join my husband who is undertaking his PhD at the University of Strathclyde. I have previously completed a Bachelor's degree and a Master's degree in English literature. I am therefore fluent in English and I speak with an British accent. I have one year official experience as a teacher in secondary- and upper secondary schools in Norway, and I am really motivated to work with children of all ages.
I have gained a lot of personal experience from babysitting for friends and family. Through my work as a teacher I have gotten essential experience in working with children with different needs and personalities. Through the Teacher's Programme, I have gained important insight into pedagogy and child psychology, which I believe is especially significant when dealing with children and securing their well-being.
I am reliable, responsible and friendly person and I can be available on short notice. I have a genuine passion for working with children of all ages, and it would be my privilege to spend time with and take care of your child/children for you either during the day, or overnight. As I have my own dog (a three y. o labrador), I am also used to pets, so I would be happy to watch your pet or walk your dog as well. My hobbies include hiking, jogging, reading (I love reading aloud), singing, drawing and spending time with friends and family.
DBS: at the time, I have the Norwegian equivalent of the British DBS document. This is a thorough background check done by the police in order to be permitted to work with minors and as a teacher. I will of course produce this document upon request.
With this, I hope I have given an honest and positive impression of myself and that you will consider me for taking care of your child whether you need a permanent nanny or just an occasional babysitter.

Work Experience & Education Background |
|
|
Work Experience 1 Year, references 2 |
I have one year official experience as a teacher of English, social studies and world history at secondary- and upper secondary schools through the University of Oslo's Teacher's Programme. This programme places a lot of focus on pedagogy and child psychology, which has given me essential knowledge for working with children.
Unofficially, I have done a lot of babysitting for friends and family both during the day and overnight with children from 4 months and up.
Through my position as a receptionist at one of Oslo's biggest hotels, I recieved First Aid training for both children and adults. DBS: working as a teacher in Norway requires that you have the Norwegian equivalent of the British DBS document. This is a thorough background check executed by the police that confirmes that you are allowed to work with children and minors. I would of course be able to present this document upon request.
Through my teaching job I have also had the opportunity to work with children with special needs. These have been teens (fourteen y. o) who in some way or other struggles with following the regular classes and keeping the same pace as the other students. I have both created lesson plans and helped the tutoring of these students.
