Volunteering with Children- Herd Farm Activity Centre
As part of my Level 5 Childhood Studies BA(Hons) Degree, in my second year at University I completed 180 hours voluntary work on Herd Farm Activity Centre. I worked closely with children supporting them alongside outdoor activities, lunch times and evening activities at the outdoor centre. During my 180 hours placement I also constructed a fire pit as part of a legacy project, on an unused piece of land, which included fundraising for materials. This created a useful learning tool for the children. I linked in the solar system within the firepit, as I used the fire as the sun and placed planet painted logs around the firepit in order to develop the children’s knowledge and understanding of our solar system, which created a useful learning tool for Herd Farm, enhancing the children’s knowledge.

Teacher Volunteering All Saints’ CE Primary School Rochdale
As part of my 6th Form work experience I volunteered at All Saints’ CE Primary School, supporting in EYFS. I thoroughly enjoyed my time in the classroom, working alongside the teachers and children. I enjoy working with children and hope to pursue a career in teaching.
