| I used to work for a charity called City Year, which I did for a year before I went to university. My role was a behavioural and educational mentor at a primary school. I often came across children who had difficulties learning or may have found it difficult socialising with the other children. I would run interventions, arrange and supervise after school clubs, help plan lessons for the school day and played an active role in communicating with parents. I once received an award for teaching a polish child English as i was able to connect and understand in a way most teachers at my school could not, doing this i had to be very patient supportive of the child. For my age i believe i am very mature and responsible, and i know a great amount about new born babies as i had to help raise my little sister when my mother fell ill, as well as having a young niece and nephew. I have attended courses on safeguarding and how to improve a child's cognitive development through Lego and active play. |
