  About me:

I'm 17 and currently finishing my last year at High School and starting the University of Glasgow in September. School has always meant a lot to me and is something I've put a lot of effort and time into, gaining me a set of straight A grades - this motivation and work ethic is something I can develop and share.

I spend free time babysitting for the family - Given my success with babysitting in the past, it seems like a good step forward to look into working with kids regularly, which I have always enjoyed and grown so much from.

I love music, reading and especially art. I really enjoy starting projects and teaching my younger brother and sister to paint and be creative as it is one of my biggest passions which I'm not furthering on with my higher education, so it would be really nice to still be able to have this creative liberty with children.

  Work Experience & Education Background

Work Experience 2 Yrs, references 0
In 2015 I did a yearlong work experience placement at Glencairn Nursery, working with and observing the young children of 3-4 years of age. developing my communication, problem-solving and organisation skills as well as knowledge in the field of care, and promoting self-awareness in the kids.
I do volunteering every Sunday at Barnando's Childrens Charity which has really developed my confidence and attentiveness which is so essential when working with children.
I also experienced a short period of working with the NHS at Gartnavel Hospital with older patients, which taught me compassion and was a really fulfilling experience which I feel will assist me with the challenges of childcare.

I already regularly babysit for my family members' kids, including my 1-year-old niece whom I've had experience caring for since she was just a few months old. my 6-year-old cousin. and my 12-year-old cousin who suffers from autism. I feel this shows I have a full range of experience with infants, children, and soon to be teens. Given my success with babysitting in the past, it seems like a good step forward to look into working with kids regularly, which I have always enjoyed and grown so much from.

Childcare experience within the following age groups:
3 - 12 months, 1 - 2 years, 2 - 5 years, 5 - 10 years, over 10 years of age, special needs children
Education/Training:
High School
About to finish my secondary education in which I have obtained, so far, 5 A's in Highers and hopefully more this exam session. My school is a very social-orientated environment and is very well known for its acceptance of both hearing impaired and special needs students. I've done a little work with acting as a scribe as well as buddying younger pupils so I feel I have good experience with school-age children whom I have had a lot of hands-on experience with throughout their education.
