  About me:

My name is Emily Ballard, I am 23 years old and have roughly 7 years experience in child care and education. I am a friendly and bubbly person, and I am very easy to get on with. I have taken part in many group activities over time such as Drama group and trampolining, both of which taught me many different skills such as, resilience, confidence, and trust.

I spend a lot of time with my nieces and family, this has taught me a lot when working with children, the importance of communication with families and carers and the role the setting has on helping to continue a child’s development when their family is not there to do so. I have always believed that partnership with parents is key to ensuring the best possible care is given to the child and that as a practitioner I am meeting their needs.

I have a few hobbies that I like to bring into my work such as drawing, I love being creative and have tried many different activities with my niece that I have the later set up as an activity at work. This hobby helps me to feel confident and comfortable, which in turn relaxes me and from that, I have been able to take the hobby and turn it into activity with helps then the children I work with to feel the same.
I have worked in many different settings of 7 years and one place really stood out for me, in this school they allowed to work alongside a SEN teaching assistant, learning new and exciting skills, from that moment I knew that my overall goal is to become qualified to teach and care for special needs children. I will be enrolling on a Special educational needs, disability and inclusive practice foundation degree course in September so will require Tuesdays off.

Emmie Dengel
Hi Emily So sorry for taking so long to drop you an email - last week was really busy. Hope this is what you are looking for - if you need me to cover anything else just let me know. I have always found Emily to be polite, friendly and approachable, we used to use her for babysitting following her time in our son's nursery. She has a lovely, warm nature which instantly captivates children and builds their trust. Our son always looked forward to seeing Emily and really enjoyed spending time with her. I would recommend Emily to anyone looking for a trustworthy and reliable employee who clearly cares about and enjoys working with children. Good luck. Emmie x
