  About me:

My name is Sarah and I am 22 years old.
For the past three years, I have lived in the beautiful city of Bristol where I have been studying for my Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Bristol and have just graduated with a 2:1 in July 2016.

I feel now is my time to fulfil one of my desires in life which is to work alongside children. First and foremost, I have always loved working with children and would love to find a family I can help and support in every way I can :). Coming from a big family myself and having 4 sisters (3 younger sisters), I have always loved children and working with them to try and ensure that they reach their full potential. .

When living in Bristol I volunteered at a local Children’s Disability Playgroup. The children who I helped within this group had high special educational needs and disabilities and thus it was a role that required patience and guidance from me as a volunteer. Although challenging, I absolutely loved teaching the children new and different skills each week, whether it be in arts and crafts or in their reading abilities. I was able to build a rapport with many of the children I looked after and gained not only practical skills in how to manage children but also integral life experience.

From an early age, I have always loved interacting with younger children and this comes from all the activities I have enjoyed over the years with my sisters as well as the many children I have babysat for. playing outside, swimming, painting, reading them stories, taking them ice-skating around the festive period. I love watching them have great fun.

My earliest volunteering experience with children was when I was at the age of 11. I was chosen to be a Sports school leader and within this role I was required to volunteer in our local primary school. Every Tuesday after school, I organised fun activities for children from St Peter's Primary school in years 2 and 3 where they were able to learn new skills and have fun with their friends in after-school hours. I absolutely loved teaching them new things each week and had great fun with them all.

As well as this, I also love not only spectating tennis but also playing tennis. Before going to University, one of the requirements to complete my Duke of Edinburgh award was to do more volunteering. So I became a Tennis Coaching Assistant for my local tennis club, this involved organising and planning tennis activities for children aged 4 -10 years old and ensuring they understood and were safe at all times.

I am a creative and ambitious young woman and I believe working helping children in their development and growth in life will be incredibly rewarding. I am a very organised individual and always strive for the best standard in everything I do. .
