Hello,
My name is Amy, I have worked in the Early Years Sector in England for over ten years in the areas of family services, early years and primary school settings and as a Forest School leader :)
I have an in-depth knowledge of children’s development and the benefits of nurturing individual learning styles. I have worked closely with the Early Years Foundation Stage Framework (EYFS), and Key Stages 1 and 2 curricula for children in the United Kingdom.
I am a massive advocate for child led learning, investigative play and learning through real experiences. My approach to education and care adopts the ethos of those seen in the Reggio Emilia approach founded in Italy and as a Forest school leader I like to spend a great deal of time outside.
I love to spend time walking my dog and climbing trees. Spending time with my husband and our 6 nieces and nephews, reading and listening to music. I love to travel and travel to Spain several times a year to visit my parents who live there.
Throughout my professional career I have always endeavored to develop my skill set and increase my knowledge, and I have completed a number of courses to help further my professional development, including:
- An NVQ in Forest Schools Level 3, allowing me to deliver tailored outdoor sessions
- Promoting early literacy
- Inclusivity and partnership with parents
- Food hygiene, dietary and toilet training
- Speech and language support
