I am an 18 year old student, currently studying at Highams park sixth form, focusing on A levels such as Sociology and English Language. these two subjects alone give me a great advantage as I learn about children, and how they are socialised at both home and school or other institutions. It gives me insight to how good childcare can have an important impact on a child's life. My mum used to be a childminder, so all through growing up I was surrounded by younger children and babies and taking care of them every now and then. I'm highly fond of kids and hope to base a career in that area.
I'm a very active person, as I have contributed in many sports teams over the years, such as football, netball, karate and swimming. I used to be a very competitive swimmer, representing Waltham Forest.
I have also completed a leadership course in teaching younger children skills in psychical education, by teaching them about teamwork and the importance of psychical health.
I'm a fully qualified driver with my own car, which I would be able to use if needed at anytime. Despite my age, I consider myself to be very mature and responsible, which makes me ideal for any job offered. |

Work Experience & Education Background |

Work Experience 2 Yrs, references 2 |
During 2017, I was an after-school babysitter for two boys (7 and 11) which required me to pick them up from a local school and take care of them until their father returned from work at 7-9pm, including making their dinner and supervising their homework. I would do this two days a week from 3pm-7/9pm. I then began working for a different family which required me during term-time to do the after-school run to home, prepare his dinner, bathe and put him to bed. along with this came little details such as reading to him, helping with reading development, and doing some light housework. this would occur 3/4 days a week, 3pm- 6:30-9pm. During the holidays, i would work fulltime with him from 8am to around 7pm, some nights ending at 10pm. During these days i would create activities and take him out of the house for things like swimming, farms, parks etc. I would prepare snacks and generally have fun with him.
Growing up with my mother who was an at-home childminder, i was surrounded by young children and babies all the time so i have second-hand experience with all age groups. |
