I have baby sat many of my siblings, cousins and neices .
I have also worked on NCS for two years which comprised of looking after 15-17 year olds for 4 weeks at a time while we went on residential with them and worked on community projects together. I looked after 10-12 teenagers at a time which all were of mixed abilities . This meant that some of them had specialist needs such as autism, fetal alcohol syndrome, Down syndrome etc . My role was to look after everyone, make them feel as comfortable as possible and get them to engage with the community via various different projects they planned to carry out themselves.
I also have work experience in a special school where I helped teachers look after children in the nursery. My role included feeding and preparing snack and lunch, aiding with cleaning of food pouch attached to some children in the nursery, entertaining the small kids during break times & help deliver therapeutic activities such as swimming, snensory rooms & exercises. |
