My name is Ali ( short for Alison), I'm 33 from Edinburgh and I have lived in London now for almost twelve years.
I live in Crouch End with my partner Matt who has his own food business and also works for The BBC. I currently work part-time as an upholsterer also in Crouch End, therefore I would love to continue working locally with a lovely family.
I studied in Amsterdam for three years, where I learnt to speak Dutch. I also speak intermediate French, and particularly enjoy learning new languages, and at any opportunity love putting this into practice.
I play tennis, swim and love being outdoors. I enjoy reading, drawing, painting, cooking, and basically doing anything fun and creative. Going to galleries, museums or mini festivals and exploring the parks of London, and when it's warm enough, swimming in the lidos. )
Albeit such a long time ago now, I achieved top results in higher educational topics such as English and Maths and would feel confident helping the kids with their after school homework. ( Both my parents were teachers).
I enjoy cooking and make fresh food daily, so it would be a pleasure to prepare dinner each day for the child I have the opportunity of looking after.
Despite not having any recent experience professionally babysitting, I look after my friends young children from babies to toddlers regularly in London and very much enjoy doing so. This includes picking up my friends little girl and doing the school run when she is busy or away with work and or the odd night and weekends.
When living in Amsterdam I looked after a boy aged five and a girl aged twelve for a year whilst studying. This was occasionally live in when the mother was away and the rest of the time in the mornings taking to school or in the afternoons collecting from school.
As a person, I am kind and patient and always put others first. I am reliable, punctual and trust worthy. I am honest with strong morales. I have a positive attitude towards life and fully believe we should live each day to it's fullest, smile, laugh and have a good time. I know when to show authority and how to gain respect and trust of the child that is in my care. |

Work Experience & Education Background |
|
|
Work Experience 1 Year, references 2 |
I was babysitter for a boy aged five and a girl aged twelve for a year in Amsterdam when I studied and lived there in 2006.
I look after my a baby aged four months when his mother is at work for a few hours during the week.
I have done babysitting at nights for a local family of a little girl aged five.
I understand this is all very casual childcare work, but I feel confident in gaining the appropriate references to back this up, and that will show my reliability and strong character.
I am 33 years old and a lot of my friends have children that I am surrounded by and that are a part of my life. I feel confident being responsible for children, and want to have the opportunity to work in this field. |
