My name is Laura, I am 31 years old and I am from Sardinia. I currently live in Cagliari and I am an English teacher in a bilingual preschool. I love my job, not only because I am passionate about the English language but also because I am keen on dancing, singing and I am interested in everything related to art in general. I think this inclination helps me to create a positive atmosphere in the classroom encouraging children in the process of learning. This year I decided to take sometime off from work because I wanted to broaden my professional horizons and acquire new skills and exprerience. In August I attended a full time Celta course at the International House of London and I obtained a Cambridge Celtificate to teach English all over the world.
Before starting to work with children I ve studied International Cooperation for Development in Rome and I was lucky to study in a multicultural environment. Besides this I have been involved in many intercultural programmes which helped me to develop a deeper understanding of myself and people around me, enhancing my knowledge of foreign cultures and strenghthening international relationships.
I am a very enthusiastic, creative and motivated person. I am interested in a lot of things. Not only I am fond of ballet, contemporary dance and theater but I am also keen on singing, painting, playing the guitar and practicing yoga. I would love to live in London, practice the language and learn new things in a positive environment. |

During my University studies I have been working as a baby-sitter and tutor for bilingual children aged 3 to 10.
For the past three years I have beeen teaching English in a bilibgual Preschool in Cagliari, Sardinia.
The major tasks I carried out where related to organising learning material and resourses using a variety of activities and instructional methods (songs, stories, media, structured games, art, outdoors activities) to motivate and stimulate children. In the afternoons I had the opportunity to organise creative workshops for children 5 to 12 years old.
