I'm based in London, looking for full time work 5 days minimum and preferably 50-60 hours.

I am more than happy to be writing this letter of recommendation for Stephanie Miller, whom I employed from June 2012 to August 2016. Stephanie was entrusted with the care of my 3 children aged 3 months, 4 and 9 at the start of the role now aged 4, 8 and 14. If I had any reservations whatsoever due to her young age, being only 18 at the time, and not having a huge amount of experience as a nanny, she quickly dispelled any of it. I was in search of a super nanny and not only did she exceed my expectations but she birthed new ones for any future nannies to come.
Stephanie was in charge of everything pertaining to the children from all nursery duties including. bottle making, implementing a routine, nappy changing, weaning and baby led weaning of which she made all of the food from scratch to potty training, organising baby classes, play dates, summer camp, birthday parties, refreshing the children’s wardrobe regularly to attending school meetings when either of us were unavailable, helping the kids with homework and taking the children to doctor appointments. She also travelled with us on holiday and proxy parented when me and my husband were away.
During her 4 years with us, Stephanie never failed to amaze with the maturity she possessed beyond her years, her heart of gold, her ability to handle stressful situations with a smile on her face and her undeniable love for her job. She is a very selfless and compassionate woman who many a times put the needs of herself aside for my family- She would often work well past her finishing time of 7pm if either one of us were late coming home.
My children’s safety was of paramount importance to her. She taught my children, including the youngest as soon as she was old enough to understand, about stranger danger, appropriate and inappropriate contact and what to do if anyone at all tried to touch them inappropriately. Whenever they would get into a taxi Stephanie always made sure to send me a description of the driver and the licence plate and kept 2 phones on her just in case one ran out of battery or stopped working. She also taught my eldest about being safe online.
Stephanie has a heart of pure gold. My daughter was being bullied at school and suffered terrible self-esteem issues as a consequence. She loves to read so Stephanie wrote her an incredible book all about how amazing she is and got her brother to illustrate as he is quite the artist. She also called for a meeting with the head teacher and class teacher and proposed a work shop on bullying and friendship. They now have one every year.
One of the qualities I most admired about Stephanie is her transparency and willingness to communicate any ideas, concerns or observations regarding the children or her employment with us. She filled out a daily diary on the activities, behaviour, nap time, meals and even how many nappies the baby went through each day. I was very pleased with her honesty and never felt she was hiding or sugar coating issues that needed to be dealt with.
We are all in absolute awe of her, she quickly became a much loved part of our family and it is no wonder. It is not often you come across someone so special and committed to their job. She will forever have a place in our hearts and our home. I really do wish Stephanie all the best in her future role and I strongly encourage you to jump at the opportunity to have her take the role as nanny to your children. I truly believe that you could not find a better nanny than she is. Should you decide to hire her I ask that you take great care of her as she will without a doubt do the same for your family.
