  About me:

I am an Educational Psychologist at heart. having graduated with a Psychology degree and with a wide range of experiences in different childcare settings including homes, nurseries and schools.

My experiences include 8 years as a nanny. and I currently work with 2 different families with children aged 5 years and under.

I am relocating to Birmingham in early 2018 to work on some projects related to the emotional health of children, parents and the staff that work with them and am seeking a part-time nanny position in the area.

My approach to childcare is development focused. consisting of age appropriate activities and events related to a child's own interests. I provide a variety of stimulating experiences and work with children on the development of new skills, mainly those in communication, physical motor skills, understanding the world and building emotional resilience and independence.

I am a down-to-earth professional, calm, responsible, reliable, friendly and experienced in providing quality childcare.

Should you wish to find out more about me and the nanny service I provide, please get in touch.

Best wishes,

Sophie

I worked for this family in Stratford for 9 months. The girls were aged 6 months, and 2 and a half at the start of my employment. My duties included preparing healthy meals from scratch, entertaining them throughout the day and finding fun activities to do, potty training and all other nursery duties. The position came to an end because the family relocated out of the area.

Jen Robbins
I cared for 2 young boys, aged 12 months, and 3 and a half years of age, at the start of my employment. Duties included housekeeping, laundry, daily care for both children, providing fun activities in and out of the house, playdates, developmental activities and preparing healthy meals from scratch. This was a live in position, and came to an end when I needed to live out. Please see below for the family's reference letter: Reference for Miss Sophie Dixon Sophie Dixon was our family’s full-time live-in professional nanny from May 2014 to January 2015. She cared for my 2 boys from when they were 3 years old and 12 months old. Her role included all aspects of childcare with additional housekeeping duties. Sophie is an exceptional nanny. Her usual working day was 12 hours. During this time she got the children up, dressed, breakfasted, found endless day–time activities to occupy and educate them, cooked nutritious meals, bathed and prepared them for bed. Activities included play-dates, museum trips, parks, playgroups, library, rhyme-times and soft-play. My children adored her: She is unflappable, has boundless patience and is kind yet lays down firm boundaries. She takes initiative as well as comprehending and acting on feedback. She gave me regular updates on the children’s progress and activities. In addition to nanny duties Sophie aided the smooth running of the household. She shared domestic duties such as washing, tidying and local errands. Sophie’s key strengths are maturity for her years. competence. patience. common sense. calmness. taking initiative. reliability and intelligence. I would not hesitate to recommend Sophie for any future position and we wish her all the best in her future employment. I am very happy to be contacted for a verbal reference if required.
