| My name is Jennifer (Jen for short), I am 27 years old and I live in Camberwell, South London. I grew up in North london and was the youngest of 3 siblings. I have a background of 7 years working with children, young people and adults in a variety of capacites. I am very interested in healthy eating, keeping fit, yoga, mindfulness and singer/songwriting with my guitar. I also love travelling so jobs involving this would appeal to me the most. I studied Psychology at universtiy and became greatly interested in how chidlren develop healthilty, especially with regards to their emotional development. I then compelted a MSc in Developemental and Educational Psycholoy which allowed me to focus more on these areas of Psychlogy which I enjoy the most. I love taking care of children and I hope to be able to incorporate an element of Education into my role, whether that be with yoga, or more academic tutoring. I am a very warm and caring person and I always ensure every child care for is provided with the best and highest quality care. |

Since moving back to London in July 2016, I have been working with three childcare agencies on a temporary and ad-hoc basis, and have had sole charge of 3 month- 8 year olds.
I gained experience in a Sure Start nursery for 8 months in 2012, working as a nursery assistant looking after 6 month- 5 year olds. I also worked as an after school carer/tutor for a family for a year, and did some ad-hoc babysitting also during this time.
In-between studying for my BSc and MSc, I worked as a volunteer mentor with children and young people, and I also worked as a family support worker for a charity for 3 years. This role involved supporting parents with parenting issues within their homes and giving them tools to equip them to manage their children's behaviour better. This role also involved working with the children on a one to one basis either in their homes, community or school. The children I supported were between 5-17 years old. |
