Coming from a family where I am the overall youngest amongst my cousins I very early on became accustomed to younger children. I have worked with children in my hockey club by volunteering with coaching over summer camps whilst also working with older children when I was still at school as I was a prefect and had to run various different clubs.
Hectic lives never phase me - nothing ever goes to plan when children are involved. I have in my life been faced with various situations where I have had to react quickly and think on my toes by performing CPR or once using the Heimlich manoeuvre. thankfully through my hockey, I have been trained in first aid which prepared me for these situations.
The main thing I have learned with children is their minds are like sponges- to absorb knowledge, intrinsically they want to learn and it is a joy teaching the little everyday things to even helping learn a new language, I have a small background in both French and Spanish. However, I understand not all children enjoy being taught regardless of their desire to learn which means fun and games is a priority which I enjoy partaking in too.
I am looking to work over summer until I continue my studies in September, at which time, I am willing to continue on working and try to work my hours around your children's needs.
